Phase II: The Goo,

Acrylic paint, clay, floral foam, found object, 14x35x33”, 2020

In a butterfly's life cycle, there is a metamorphosis from a caterpillar into a butterfly. During this stage the old body breaks down to form a new body inside the protective shell: the chrysalis. The fluid (the goo) breaks down the old caterpillar body to form the new body. And thus, a beautiful butterfly emerges out. The cage is the chrysalis and the goo is the body. It's still morphing, changing, and rebuilding.
